Support » Theme: picolight » Background covers text in some browsers

  • I have been using Picolight on my blog

with a background image on left and right. It seems to work fine on most browsers (Firefox, Safari…) but on some – Windows mail, various Android phone systems, intermittently on Explorer – the background covers the whole page making the text unreadable.
The pictures and headers still appear normally.

This is obviously becoming more of a problem as so many people now expect to look at web pages etc. on phones despite their often-lousy systems. Will i have to drop the background completely? I’d prefer to keep it if possible.

Many thanks for any suggestions as to what I can do. I see Netprospector had a similar problem in the forum, but afraid I didn’t understand his solution, so please make any suggestion plain and easy to read+ do for someone with no/nearly no code skills.

Fixed with recent update to version 1.1.10.

    Thanks a lot Valentín,

    Just 2 questions –

    – Are there any things we should be careful of in customizing the new version?

    – Does this mean that if I put a background image back as a side margin the text will still read OK on any system, including crappy android phones? When I had the background people kept telling me it would open Ok on some systems but not on others.

    Very best,
