    Hi

    I would like to change the background colour of all the pages using Full width featured area from white to a semi opacity creamy colour.

    I have tried the following code in my Custom CSS but it doesn’t seem to work

    #content-full {
       <div style="background: rgb(248, 236, 194);
       background: rgba(248, 236, 194, 0,5);
       border: none;</div>
    }

    Is there something I’m doing wrong? I’m still new at this… so don’t go all CSS guru on me please ;)

    Remember that we're not familiar with your site like you, we need to know which theme you're using and we need to see your website.

    You can't put HTML inside of a CSS file:

    <div style="

    Here's a tutorial that should help you understand the syntax of CSS and recgonise these errors: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/Syntax

    And there's an automatic syntax-checker here: http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/

    Ok, understandable. Just tried to access my site and it's still in the process of being moved from a temp URL to the registered domain (was supposed to take 8 hours not 19) - http://www.rlc.co.za

    I am using the Responsive Child Theme, static homepage and Full width featured area option for the Pages.

    So if I remove the <div style=" and just use the followin code will it work, and in all browsers?

    #content-full {
       background-color: #F8ECC2;
       border: none;
       opacity: 0,5;
    }

    There's no way of me knowing whether it'll work without seeing your website.
    Even though the styles like 'background-color' and 'border' are supported down to Internet Explorer 5.5, I wouldn't attempt to make such a blanket statement. Have you seen the range of browsers? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_web_browsers

    By the way look carefully at the syntax of the opacity style https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/opacity

    The site is up now. Please see the following page and help me with the CSS that will change the background colour of all the pages using Full width featured area from white to a semi opacity creamy colour. As I said in the OP, I'm new to CSS so I don't fully understand what code to use and where to put it. THANKS!

    Received the code from CyberChimps :)

    For those struggling with the same thing - this worked for me:

    #wrapper {
       background: rgb(248, 236, 194);
       background: rgba(248, 236, 194, 0.5);
       border: none;
    }
