Backend re-oder column content

    @rwzdoorn

    Dear WP’ers,

    For one of our projects I need to make the wordpress backend friendlier. One of the ‘missions’ is to re-order the coloumn items.

    Normal order is: Title > Date > Featured image > ID
    And we like to make it: Featured image > Title > ID > Date

    For the visual programmers, this is what I mean:
    Check the screenshot

    Does anyone know how to change this order?

    I used to know but the core code has changed since then and I haven’t revisited it much. The difference is that the core seems to use the class.*.list-table.php classes in wp-admin/includes now. Maybe that will get you started.

    I’d start by checking out this page of the Codex:

    Filter Reference: Manage Posts Columns

    There’s several filters on that page such as adding custom columns, and if I remember correctly you’re able to sort through the columns coming in.
