• Hi,

I’m helping an unfortunate someone who’s webmaster collected the money, ran and left a complete mess!

I logged onto the site – at least I had THAT information – and found very little on the backend menu. I have Dashboard, Pages and Profil. That’s IT!

    I can’t even tell what these this is. It’s a parallax, that’s all I know…

I can’t even see what WP-version is currently active. There is a msg. to update to 3.9.2, but I can’t even backup to do that because I have NO information to the provider/server. ugh…

I’m not a programmer and don’t even know where to begin on this project. Can anyone give me suggestions?

    Thanks!

  • I’m guessing, but it sounds like there’s a plugin that is hiding portions of the dashboard? Are you logged in as an administator? Do you have access to the host? It sounds like you don’t, right?

    Thanks!

Yes, I’m logged in as admin. I’m not sure if I have ALL rights, but I can at least change text and stuff… The users menu is also missing…

And no, that’s the problem, I don’t have the hosting login, but at least the client is the admin-c of the domain, that was at least done correctly…

So I can’t even see what theme this is or what plugins are involved via FTP… All very strange…

So, I guess the first step would be to deal with the hosting situation…

Question: once that’s done, how do I deal with the plugins via FTP? Would I just ‘move’ one by one to another folder and see if that changes anything and if not, move it back to the plugins folder so as not to lose any settings information? I hope I worded that clearly enough…

    Thanks!
