I have a WP installation already with posts in it .. I guess i screwed up one of the files trying to modify it .. How do i make a full backup of WP, so that when i do a clean install i can add the posts automatically …

do i only save the MySQL file or is there another option ..

    Regards.

You can also download/save all your current WP files, folders, plugins to your hard drive..and such too.. I do this all the time. 😉

so backing up the Mysql tables will save my posts / registered users ? rite .. the rest plugins and tweeks i have to add later .. ?

Thankx .. this was helpful ..

    Regards.

Following that backup guide there, will save all your important WordPress database tables..(posts / registered users) and so forth..just for your blog itself..

The plugin’s tables could also be saved in the same manner, just might take a little bit longer to download the copy of your database.. depends on what plugins you have running..

Also for the plugins, if you backup the plugins tables, you’ll want to also download/save your plugin files and directories the same..as in your FTP directory.. but, to your hard drive.. I hope this isn’t confusing..

This really helped me alot.. when my blog was hacked before.. 😉 They thought they F-ed me up, when really I just restored it all, and came back to give them the double middle fingers! [NSFW Link]
