Back to WP. A Refresher Question

    Hi,

    I just installed a new WP site on HostGator.

    I put ALL of the WP files in the public_html folder. Is this correct?
    It’s been a while. It’s working fine. Worried about the future and security.

    Also, When I went to mydomain.tld/wp-admin/install, it said it couldn’t find file. But, when I went to mydomain.tld, WP was up, installed and ready for me to fill out info.

    What’s up with that?

    Hey ChgoWriter,

    public_html is correct on the hostgator account.

    mydomain.tld/wp-admin/install wouldn’t work because you are missing the trailing .php. Try mydomain.tld/wp-admin/install.php.

    If WP s already setup then don;t worry about going to install.php 🙂
