• Hi,

I successfully cloned from my site and created a fresh WP install on a new server.

I installed Wp clone by wp Academy and attempted to restore from url i got the dreaded..

Error Message : Internal Server Error

I found the solution to this error by downloading the clone file from previous site and uploading to new via ftp. I finally got the “Restore Successful” screen but when I click on “visit your restore site here” it goes back to the install screen??

It goes through part of the install process and when you go to the dashboard only the plugging and theme are there but are all deactivated.

I did see a very old support post with some one with a similar problem but clicking “advanced settings” link and check “alternate zip method” and hit restore didn’t work.

I’m really trying to get this to work for me. 🙁

    Please advise.
    Thanks

  • I have the same problem and posted on this yesterday. The installation of the clone seems to successfully copy all the files to the web server, but the database doesn’t fully/properly install. Without a full/proper database, WordPress redirects to the install.php script to install the necessary tables. So you end up with a Hello World empty WordPress site (clean database), but your plugins and themes are there in their folders so WordPress sees them as installed but not activated. I’ve tried to change various server settings to prevent this from happening. But no luck so far. Waiting on the WP Clone team to respond.
