Back-in-stock emails when refunding a sold out item

Hi,
A customer returned an item that is currently sold out and for which we currently have a lot of back-in-stock requests. I’m wondering if all these people will receive the back-in-stock email when I refund the order for this customer?
We’ll restock this item very soon and I don’t want to lose all the back-in-stock requests by refunding just one piece…
