Hi! There’s something weird here: the plugin keeps changing the language all the time in different pages.

Like, when I access “Settings > General” and see everything in my native language but if I click in “Dashboard” it changes to English again. And it keeps changing over and over again randomly.

It’s very annoying… any way to fix this?

    Thanks! 😀

    Hi Davi,

The Settings > General page is not translated due to a bug in WordPress. You can read more about it here:
    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/when-using-this-plugin-wordpress-is-always-asking-for-updates?replies=10#post-6111124

And here is the Trac ticket:

Unfortunately, unless WP fixes this we will have to not translate Settings > General. There is another issue with translation updates that means we have also whitelisted the updates page.

Please note that other plugins that do the same thing usually don’t have these checks so you may accidentally change the language of your site.

Oh, I see… well it happens with other pages too, usually Plugins Options pages and stuff. Maybe it’ the same thing?

Anyway… I’ll wait for the solution any day soon.

    Thanks! 😀

    Hey Davi,

You are right, some plugin pages may be affected by this issue. I will release a fix shortly.

Very frustrating. I no longer can anticipate which page will revert back to the native language and which will be in English.

As a test, how can I get an earlier version of the plugin? I sense that the plugin version just before this one will work with the latest version of WP.

    Hi Sabapete,

You can download the old version here:
    https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/english-wp-admin.1.3.2.zip

Thank you. I deleted your latest version of your plugin and installed the older one. Everything now works the way it should. So, version 1.3.2 works with WP 4.1, while the latest plugin version does not.

It happens to me too. Each time I enter in the settings of a plugin page it changes language and then go back to English. I was using WordPress languages but they stopped updating it so I really hope your plugin would work well.

    Thanks for this.

    Hi everyone,

Please try the latest version 1.5.0, it should resolve all these issues.

    Hi Khromov,

Yes, it did, it’s working. Thank you very much

The new version does, in fact work, except for one page. Th “updates” page is still in the other language. Specifically, the entire page including the menus in the sidebar. Strange. Does anyone else have this issue? Did anyone else check this page since the update?

    Hi Sabapete,

Yes, it’s the same for me.

    Hi Sabapete & davidroccato,

The updates page and Settings > General are both not translated, the reason for this can be found in the readme:

update-core.php is whitelisted because translation updates do not work properly if you change locale on that screen.

options-general.php is whitelisted due to Trac issue #31318 and #29362

If the update page had not been whitelisted it would be impossible to download translation updates for core, themes and plugins.

    Hope that helps.

Awesome khromov, thank you for the answer and for the plugin.

    D*
