• Hey Guys and Gals,

I am using the latest WordPress installation on Azure I am questioning my decision I use high quality plugins from the repository they are trusted developers but I am still receiving error 500 occasionally on my wp-admin or WSOD

I know how to fix it but why do I have to fix it so much?

    Ryan

Right now the error I am receiving is when I try to upload a network plugin it starts loading then it breaks one of the sites wp-admin page I have to re-upload the wp-includes folder I am feeling that this was designed for linux not IIS

    any thoughts?

What are the *actual* error messages that you’re seeing? A 500 error could be any of a million different things so that by itself doesn’t tell you anything.

If you’ve got issues with plugin uploads breaking or over-writing other files outside of the plugins folder, your host has a lot of explaining to do!!!

I did some digging I am not a programmer I just know enough to be dangerous

I followed this link from azure about configuring PhP to 5.5

    I was receiving this error

PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library ‘D:\Program Files (x86)\PHP\v5.5\ext\php_pdo_sqlsrv.dll’

I found out from this link that one shouldn’t enable PhP 5.5 on a windows platform

My question is did I resolve my intermittent WSOD and Internal server errors?

There’s no possible way for us to tell that. This is purely a hosting issue, and you really need to be talking to them about it because they are the only ones that are going to be able to see what is actually happening on their servers, not anyone here.
