Version 2.7 breaks everything

    This plugin was great until version 2.7.

    With version 2.7 the author seems to be greedy. All good and (for me) relevant features were removed and added to the pro version, that’s obviously not for free.

    The migration still fails and must be started manually. So all downloads were vanished for 2-3 days.

    I recently switched to Delightful Downloads. Man, what a nice and small plugin this is.

    My recommendation: DO NOT UPDATE TO 2.7!

    Hi,
    sorry for the confusion, but actually you got the wrong concept about the features, version 2.7 has lots more features now. Please check all those add-ons here http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/downloads/free-add-ons/ , they are all free and you can use those with v2.7, which was not possible with 2.6, for the missing features, now you need to install add-on, though looks like it is a bit of extra work, but here you can drop the feature you don’t need, which will make the thing cleaner.

    Migration worked fine for us and others, sometimes category may be unlinked because there was no way to keep linked as it moved to custom post type. But we can check it in your installation and help with your setup, no worry about that.

    Though I strongly recommend to update v2.7, but you still can get back to v2.6 from here https://wordpress.org/plugins/download-manager/developers/
