Once I have written a whole library for exactly this purpose myself (this was before I knew CMB2 and probably before it has even existed). I can tell you it is a fucking whole lot amount of work to provide some of the advanced features this plugin offers.

In a project (for an “accordion” containing HTML contents as well as custom predefined contents) I needed a repeatable and sortable group of WYSIWYG Editors with titles and the possibility to select predefined contents. It fucking works! You certainly do not want to implement something like this yourself, trust me 😉
