• The developers have refused to fix a serious bug that causes this plugin to break sites and cause serious issues with servers, due to ever expanding back up files.

Until this is issue is addressed I cannot recommend this plugin.

The plugin also won’t copy files outside of the WordPress wp-content folder so should not be considered as a full back up solution.

Right now, the plugin does not support custom folders for themes and plugins, only for uploads. If enough people are using custom folders for themes and plugins, we can implement it. So far there has not been any interest in adding support for this other than your topic here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/custom-plugin-directory-causing-infinite-loop/

This isn’t a feature request but a serious bug. If you do not wish to support this please add a check to prevent backups going into an infinite loop.

I acknowledge that this is a problem but we cannot fix it right now because your setup is the only one that I see reporting this issue. There are other issues that affect more users that we are currently working on.
With that said, the plugin is open-source and we accept user contributions. If you can fix this, send me a patch or pull request and I can add it to the plugin.
