    Hello Daan,

thank you for your plugins, I really like OMGF so I decided to give your CAOS a try. Everything went smoothly until I ran my webpage thru Measure (https://web.dev/measure/) where I received the following “warning”:

Avoid serving legacy JavaScript to modern browsers with reference to @babel/plugin-transform-classes in its protocol.

When I removed your CAOS plugin above mentioned warning disappeared.

    ba-what now!? And transform-who!?

I never even heard of this JS framework until today. Also, when I run two of my sites (Also using CAOS) through that tool, I don’t get the same error.

When you run the test again, do you still get that error?

    Hello Daan,

when I activate a free version of CAOS plugin v4.0.2 I get this “error”:

    https://www.pina.cz/tmp/CAOS.jpg

CAOS is deactivated now, that is why I provide you with a screenshot only. And when run thru Measure now, it is clear with no JavaScript notifications.

If you want, I could turn other plugins off to see if there is some collision or conflict with them, but not now. Maybe tomorrow when I will have some spare time.

    Aha, you’re using gtag. V4 or V3?

Also, I noticed in the screenshot you sent that the exact line and position is provided, line 3 position 524 of your page’s source code.

So it’s an inline script. Can you copy line 3 to a text file and send it to me using this form? Then we can figure out what JavaScript its talking about.?

    Daan,

I use V3 gtag but it is clear now. It turned out that I also had the WP Rocket’s GA Add-on, which hosts GA scripts locally, turned ON. When turned OFF, Measure’s notification regarding legacy Java script is gone. Sorry for confusion.

Regarding GA scripts, when using your plugin, it is not needed to put GA scripts into web page code and if I have it there before installing your plugin, it has to be removed first. Is that right?

    Thank you.

    Phew! 😉

Yes, that’s correct. CAOS adds the script for you.

May I have one more question? I would like to track page views, time on pages and traffic sources only, is it OK to use Minimal Analytics, or do I need to use full tracking code? In other words what metrics are tracked via Minimal Analytics?
    Thank you.
