Thanks for the review.
Here is how the Average Session Duration metric is calculated: https://independentwp.com/knowledgebase/data/what-is-session-duration/
Could you let me know if there is an issue, in particular, you are seeing with this data on your website?
Hi Ben,
If I could send a picture it would be much clearer and easier but let me explain. For example yesterday on one of my sites I had visits to only five links the
first link had 43 visits with an average view durastion is 3:16 .
the second had 23 visits with an average view durastion is 0:56 .
the third had 7 visits with an average view durastion is 3:21 .
the fourth had one visit with an average view durastion is 0:25 .
and the last had one visit with an average view durastion is 1:34.
We saw the total average in the plugin dashboard it will show up written 7:24 average session duration.
I think it was a misunderstanding on my part, but you should put average session duration and average viewers duration in the dashboard plugin and can toggle between them, so that there is no misunderstanding from the user.
Okay I understand now. The View Duration and Session Duration are different metrics. For example, the view duration is how long someone looked at one page, while the session duration is how long they spent on the website, which includes every page they viewed before leaving.
Imagine you have three pages each with an average view duration of 2 minutes. If the average visitor looks at two pages, then the average session duration is going to be about 4 minutes.
