    Hey folks,

I have a problem with the Google Map blocking and overlay of your plugin. On the website stated above the map is not getting blocked in any way. It loads without consent and saves cookies. I’am using the Maps integration of the Avada theme with the Embed API (as seen in screenshot). Could you have a look at this and provide a custom snippet, so it’s getting blocked and the clickable overlay is displaying?

If you need further information just let me know!

    Kind regards, Jonas

    Hi @bytefight,

The Google Maps should work when the Embed API (not Javascript API) has been enabled, we’ve tested this here and this seems to work as intended: https://really-simple-sandbox.com/aert/voorbeeld-pagina/

Can you also check the following settings under Complianz > Integrations:
    – Google Maps should be Enabled
    – ACF integration should be Disabled
    – (Complianz > Settings) Safe Mode should be Disabled

I recall an earlier thread about this topic, where we provided an MU Plugin. Is that MU Plugin still active on the site?

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hi @jarnovos

Google Maps integration is enabled (with placeholder), ACF isn’t installed on this system and it is not getting shown in the Complianz Settings, Save mode is not enabled.

Still it isn’t working, no overlay and it loads normally without blocking.

The mu-plugin you mention is installed on another system. I’ve already tried to copy it to the current system, but it didn’t show any effect.

    You have another idea?

We’re using the standard Avada Google Maps Module with Embed API selected.

    Hi @bytefight,
It might be a conflict with another plugin. The previously mentioned example page is an empty WordPress site, only Complianz and the Avada Maps with the Embed API are active.

This does not result in any errors, so the Embed API on an empty configuration seems to function as intended. Perhaps you could try disabling other active plugins, to see if this helps to find the culprit?

    Kind regards,

    Hey there,

I think I’ve found the problem! When editing the address string to a more simple one like “Hammerstrasse” it works like a charm. Same integration and settings, only the address string is different. I didn’t deactivate any plugins.

We need to enter this address (which is not getting blocked): “Gebrauchtwagenzentrum Münster, Hansestraße 47, 48165 Münster”

Maybe it has to do with letters like “ü” or spaces in the string. Could you try entering the address above in your example?

I think you have to adjust how your plugin handles urls from Google Maps with these letters included …

    Thanks in advance!

    Hey @bytefight,

Thank you for the detailed response. We will investigate further and when we have a solution, it will be included in the next update.

For now, the workaround would be to enter the address without the symbols. This should still result in the correct address when entered in Google Maps: “Gebrauchtwagenzentrum Munster, Hansestrasse 47, 48165 Munster, Munster, Germany”

    Kind regards,
    Jarno
