    Hi there,

I’ve just put your plug-in into my website http://www.smokinghotconfessions.com and it is hosted by godaddy.com.au. I’m having some technical problems, and I’d like to ask some design questions.

Firstly, I have tested the sign up form with my wife’s yahoo, and my hotmail accounts. Whilst the plug-in has captured the information correctly, neither the yahoo nor the hotmail address has received the autoresponder email guiding them to my newsletter. HOWEVER, when I rang GoDaddy for support, the gentleman on the phone tested it through two of his email addresses (securesever.net and godaddy.com) it all worked perfectly and he got the autorespond email. I have checked all of the spam/junk folders in the yahoo and hotmail accounts and the emails aren’t there either. Can you please advise?

My design questions are: is it possible to have the sign up form floating on top of the homepage so people have to either sign up or close it in order to be able to read the page? And is it possible to remove the ‘Last Name’ option from the form?

    Thanks,

    Ben

An update… the autorespond email has gone successfully to a gmail account I’ve used, but is still not turning up in my hotmail or my wife’s yahoo account.

    Sorry, one more design question…

Is it possible to put pictures in the ‘Thankyou email’?

Hi Ben – emails are tricky to troubleshoot. From what you have told me it seems like there is an issue at certain email providers not passing on the email – this is out of the scope or control of the plugin. You could try signing up with a service like Mandrill integrated into WP with wpMandrill. https://wordpress.org/plugins/wpmandrill/

This service by passes the mail systems of your website hosting company and uses MailChimps email servers. MailChimp should be considered safe by most email providers.

Your design question is yes you can but you’ll need to consult a designer here.

Is it possible to put pictures in the ‘Thankyou email’?

Yes I do have a plugin that works with Easy Sign Up to add this extra functionality, it is not currently available, as I am working on it’s distribution website. Watch this thread for an update, hopefully by Thursday this week.

And is it possible to remove the ‘Last Name’ option from the form?

Yes you’ll do that via the shortcode attribute fnln

    [easy_sign_up title="Free Newsletter" phone="0" fnln="0" ]

The code above will hide the phone and combine first and last names into name

If you need to reference the short code there is a help tab in the easy sign-up options screen. This is found in the same location as regular WordPress help. Top right in your browser window.

    Hi again,

Sorry, I don’t know where/how to do this. Where do I put it?

Also, I looked at your new website. Is it a paid option that I need in order to put a photo in the emails? Could you please clarify that for me?

    Thanks,

    Ben

Oh, I should mention that I’m using it as a Widget on a side content bar, not on each and every page/post.

Navigate to the general widget settings screen in your admin.

Locate the Easy Sign Up widget in the the sidebar / footer widget area where you set it.

Then uncheck the Separate the first and last name fields check box.

    Save and you’re done.

No purchase is necessary, in the order responder editor click on the text tab.

This will allow you to edit the html. Just pop in your image there.

The Easy Styles Extra helps out by adding functionality to access to the WordPress media library.

Hope this sorts everything out for you. I would love it if you’d take the time to give the plugin a review @ https://wordpress.org/support/view/plugin-reviews/easy-sign-up

Thanks mate. I got a photo in the email, and I was able to remove the last name from the sign-up page! Thanks so much. Very impressed!
