Support » Fixing WordPress » Automating WordPress Installation

  • Hello,

I’m trying to automate the installation of WordPress. While there are many helpful guides out there, they seem to all stop at the stage where you access your site via URL (i.e. http://domain.com/wp-admin/install.php?step=1). Is there a way to automate this step as well, so that the database can be populated, a user&pass can be created, and the site will be fully set up without having to go to any further URLs?

    Thanks for any insight.

  • For further info, I’m on a CentOS7 server and am looking for a way through bash or similar.

You can use WP-CLI to script the WordPress installation.

    https://wp-cli.org/

The MySQL portion will need to be scripted separately but that’s not too difficult to do.
