Automatically adds BP "Welcome" items on everysave

    Janis,

    I’m not sure if this has been seen or reported before, but I’m using your plugin on a site with BuddyPress and BuddyDrive. Both plugins have a welcome screen that gets displayed whenever the plugins are activated or updated.

    For some reason Admin Menu Editor is adding the links to those screens everytime I save the menu. Even after I delete the items from the menu, when I resave there they are again. To make matters worse, the Welcome to BuddyPress link is displayed twice.

    I can send login credentials to you if you want to see it happening yourself.

    That’s a known issue with BuddyPress. It creates a number of special menu items for internal use, then removes them again to hide them (most plugins use capabilities or roles for that, not directly remove the menu).
    As far as I can tell, it does this because creating a menu item sets up a number of things (like generating new admin page URLs, etc) that BuddyPress uses later, but it doesn’t want these special items to actually show up in the menu.

    However, AME gets the list of available admin menu items before BuddyPress “hides” its menu items. So the special items still show up when AME is active.

    Try hiding the menu items with the “Show/Hide” toolbar button (it has a grey puzzle piece icon).
