 * There are trackbacks (TB) and there are pingbacks (PB).
 * To send a TB to another blog – you need to enter the TB URL in the field below
   the post.
To send PB – you need to have a link in your post to the post’s permalink
   in another blog.

 * That is entirely up to the blog owner and you cannot do anything about it.

 * I don’t know. Theoretically, both WP and MT can accept pingbacks but as the owner
of the blog I can set it up not to receive any PB or TB at all or on a post by
   post basis.
Man, look around in the admin panel of your blog and learn.

 * Any type of site can accept a pingback, if they are coded to do it. Most blog
systems can. But whether any given blog does or not is up to that blog.
 * Pingbacks are automatic and you don’t need to worry about them.
 * Trackbacks are not automatic, and you should probably only do them when you’re
replying specifically to somebody else’s blog entry on your own blog.

 * But if all blogs accept Pingbacks why i should use Trackbacks to send my entry?

 * Where did you get that all blogs accept pingbacks? Many don’t. More to the point,
they don’t do the same thing in the first place, and they were never meant to
   do so.
 * Trackbacks are for replies. When I reply to somebody’s blog entry by making a
post on my own blog, I use a trackback.
 * Pingbacks are simple link notification. If somebody links to one of my blog entries,
I can know about it. But it doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re replying to
my entry, just that they linked to it.
 * Pingbacks != Trackbacks != Comments. Different things for different purposes.

 * But a link or a reply is not the same thing ? You have always a mention in the
other blog…do you see part of the mention/reply in the both case, or not ? Sorry
for my not perfect english 🙂

 * > _But a link or a reply is not the same thing ?_
 * No, they are not the same thing.
 * I frequently get pingbacks when people post “my favorite plugins” and include
a link to one of my plugins. It’s not a direct reply, it’s content that includes
   a link to my page.
 * I would expect a trackback if somebody actually made a post that was a direct
reply to one of my own posts. Like I posted something saying “Bush sucks!” and
somebody else posted “Otto said Bush sucks! I agree and here’s why:”, then yeah,
that’s a reply and a trackback makes sense.
 * > _do you see part of the mention/reply in the both case, or not ?_
 * For a trackback, yes, the sending party sends a piece of their comment/post to
   the receiving site.
 * For a pingback, no, the sending party only sends the URL. The receiving site
must go retrieve the content itself and get some piece of it if it wants to display
it. WordPress does this, and displays a small portion of the content from the
   pinging site.
 * But there is a fundamental difference between somebody actively telling me something(
via a trackback) and me going to find what they have to say (via a pingback).
 * As for “what you see”, well, that depends. WordPress stores all three as “comments”,
but you can make it display them mixed, or separately. You can have it style
them differently, you can choose not to display pings or tracks or comments or
whatever you like. This is all up to the theme itself.
