Automatic read more

Hey!

I have a new theme on my wordpress but now I don’t have the option for the automatic read more.

I have been looking for the code and I have found this information:

To change in the theme code this:
Changing the line “the_content();” inside of the LOOP by:

I have done this but nothing occurs. It is still all the post.
