Support » Plugin: Breeze - WordPress Cache Plugin » Automatic prevention of caching for password protected pages

  • Hi Adeel,

We’ve been using a patched (modified by one of our team members) version of Breeze 1.0.10 for a while now because we had issues with the plugin serving the protected content to site visitors who had not entered the password.

I’ve just tested Breeze 1.1.7 and I wasn’t able to reproduce the issue.

However, I haven’t been able to find any information on this topic in the plugin changelogs.

Question 1: was this an issue that was identified by the plugin development team?

Question 2: was this issue specifically addressed by the development team?

I realize it’s also possible this was fixed as a consequence of other code changes. I’m just trying to get as much information and clarity as I can.

At least one of our clients had a major negative experience with this issue on a password protected page sometime back (probably on Breeze 1.0.9 or Breeze 1.0.10). I’d love to be able to deploy the newest version of Breeze and be confident that this issue is no longer present.

Please let me know if I can provide further information, screenshots, Loom videos, etc. to assist.

    Thank you for reaching out.

If you have a website with an older version of Breeze where you might reproduce the issue, we would love to verify that the issue has been fixed in the later builds.

To answer your questions, we have improved the overall architecture of the plugin and as a result, many issues were fixed as newer builds with a better code base were released. The issue of caching password-protected pages is one of such issues that got resolved (as a result, you were not able to reproduce it).

We would love to get your help in getting a test site to verify that the issue has been resolved.

    Hi Adeel,

Thanks for your response, I really appreciate it!

I have set up a testing site here:

As you can see, we are a Cloudways customer, which I forgot to mention in my original post.

I’ve also recorded a video where I reproduce the bug using Breeze 1.1.0.

I can also create a user account on the website for you if you would like. Just let me know an email address I can input for the user account.

    Hi Adeel,

Any update on this matter? Please let me know if you need my assistance with anything.

Thanks for sharing a video of your concern related to the Breeze plugin. Yes, we have improved the plugin architecture to never cache the password-protected page. You can completely verify it at your staging site. Still, you have any confusion or require any guidance related to the issue so feel free to ask.

    Hi Adeel,

Thanks for the clarification! We appreciate the updates to the plugin.
