# Automatic Plugin Upgrader not working

 * When I try to use the automatic plugin upgrader I get this error:
 * Fatal error: Call to undefined function: is_binary() in /var/www/vhosts/faith-
   journey.com/httpdocs/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-filesystem-ftpext.php on line
   118
 * Any clue how to fix it?

 * $type = $this->is_binary($contents) ? FTP_BINARY : FTP_ASCII;
 * I would love to be able to use the automatic plugin upgrader. It used to work
   for me.
