Thank you for your request. It does make sense what you are requesting. At the moment there is the option that allows the members to login after their account has expired. This can be achieved by enabling the following option Enable Expired Account Login under Advanced Settings. I am not sure if this would also work for you.
I have submitted a message to the developers to investigate further your request.
Kind regards

Basically, when the member’s account expires, it will give them a notice (the next time they log into the site). They will be prompted to renew the membership. The following documentation should be helpful:

We don’t have an email option for this yet.
Thanks so much for your replies! I have had that “expired account login” option enabled since the site launched earlier last year. We currently manage our memberships on an annual basis with expiration occurring on the first day of each year, but many of our members don’t log into the site often enough, so it could be a few months before they are informed that their membership has expired. Purchasing the data exporter has made work-arounds possible, but boy would we love an automated process that would email all members one month prior to expiration that their memberships are going to expire soon. Is this something that you think might become available in the future?
Hi all.
Any news on this? I’m weighing up whether I should develop a bespoke plugin to send out emails, but if it’s on its way it would save a lot of work.
It’s definitely an essential piece of functionality.
I, too, would love it if this facility was available. It is for a theatre club, and we want to have a rolling 12 month membership (but not one that automatically renews – or, if we do go for automatic renewal, be able to send an automatic reminder that they will be charged in, say, 30 days time).
