Hi! I am on Postie 1.5.22 and my automatic mail checks have stopped working (I have Postie set to check for mail every 5 minutes). However, manual mail checks work fine.

I don’t know if this could have anything to do with having just switched to GoDaddy’s “Managed WordPress” platform, or if it’s just a result of the plugin update.

Since my whole site relies heavily on Postie, I’d appreciate if we could get the auto mail check working again!
    Thanks!

Also, here is what I get if I run the Configuration Test:

    Postie Configuration Test

    Postie is in /home/content/p3nexnas05_data03/20/2133120/html/wp-content/plugins/postie

Thanks for getting back to me! So my Test Config in Postie settings said “Cron: On” – is there nothing else i can try before going to a third party service? (I don’t think my host will let me do the last option in the article – Managed WordPress says “Its hosting back-end does not come with a control panel, so tools like Cron jobs are not available”)

    To follow up:
I installed WP Crontrol to view and manage my cron events. Postie is listed there (“check_postie_hook”) and set to recur every 5 minutes, although for “Next Run” it always says “now” and lists a time in the past. Not sure why that would be.

Anyway, supposing it’s just not working, it looks like I could add a set up a new cron job by providing a function. Do you know what the function could be to get Postie to check its mail?

    thanks!

I am having the same issue. I have been using Postie with the automatic mail checks running flawlessly for the past 2 years.

It stopped immediately after upgrading. I haven’t made any changes to the settings, etc. And it will retrieve mail if I do it manually.

I set up an AHK script to run it manually via the URL provided in the post above for now, but it would be great if this could get fixed. It’s a key feature for me.

(My Postie Configuration Test shows Cron: On).

    Hi jmorty,
Thanks for your input – I’m trying to write my own cron event but not really sure how to do it. Do you know a function I can use to run the postie mail check? I saw the URL I need to hit in the article Wayne sent, but I don’t know what the PHP function is to actually hit that URL.
    thanks!

Postie does not control the wordpress cron. Cron runs postie. You can try deactivating and activating postie and it will reinitialize the postie cron settings. No user settings will be changed.

Hi – me again. I did what you said (deactivating and reactivating Postie) but I’m finding that Postie runs sporadically. I have Postie set to check for mail every 10 minutes. This never happens, although Postie sometimes gets the mail in a few hours. (Or sometimes not until I manually run it again.) Meanwhile, when I check on my cron jobs using Crontrol, the Postie mail check seems to be operating on schedule (supposedly running every 10 minutes.)
Is there any way I can diagnose what’s happening? I really depend on Postie for my site to run smoothly.
    thanks!

    Is this still happening?
