# Automatic dated Backup

 * I just lost my ENTIRE SITE in 2 clicks, and apparently cannot undo this or recover
   the previously saved version. (Using theme “I Am One”).
 * I seem to remember previously having a list to choose from of previous versions
   to return to. Now there is nothing?
 * If this is true it is a horrendous oversight from WordPress. And I have lost 
   3 months’ work in 2 seconds!

 * Backups are not a core part of WordPress, but there are many different methods
   detailed at [https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups](https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups)
 * As well as plenty of free plugins, like [https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/)
   and paid services, like [https://vaultpress.com/](https://vaultpress.com/)
 * Also, ask your hosting provider, as they may keep backups too.
