Support » Fixing WordPress » Automatic Daily Page Publish/Update

  • I have a short code created for my home page, that displays the number of days since a certain event (so everyday it increases one). The problem is, the short code works perfectly fine and updates the displayed text as it should, but visitors of the page aren’t able to see the new updated number unless I login and manually update/publish the page containing the new display text from the short code. Is there a way to make my page automatically update/publish each day, so that the number of days is accurate without me having to login and update the page myself?

    Thanks for your help!

    Howdy!

My first question on this would be what are you using? Is this a plugin you created or one that you installed?

One way I can think of might be setting up some sort of cron for that. Not sure what your level of knowledge on that is but that is what came to mind.

    Hey Jose,

I am using a date counter plugin that I installed. I’m familiar with a cron but have never implemented one. How much back end script-writing would be involved there?

    🤔

Have you tried reaching out to the plugin’s support about that? I wonder if that has come up for them as a use case.

I will do that and see if they have encountered this need before!
