 * Does this work to remind a subscriber that their next payment is coming up? We
   have automatic renewals each month and I want them to get notified a few days
   prior that they will be charged in so many days.

 * It is. The WooCommerce Subscriptions Renewal Reminders allows you to send your
   subscribers a Renewal notifications by Emails x days before their subscription
   ends.
 * In the plugin settings, you can specify how many days before you want to send
   the reminder email to the subscriber.
