    Hi,

interesting problem with auto-locate and category search. I use iPad so the location is found and allowed in the settings. My site is https.

    1. When the page is loaded (on iPad Chrome) the location comes from the settings default location, not the real location
    2. If I press the arrow icon on the map, my location moves to my current, true location
    3. I give my location (city name) written in the search bar (because compulsory), a city and choose some categories and press Search
    4. The search results are correct, but at the same time my location MOVES to another place, about 500 meters from my real location (but it is not the center of the city, nor the default location from the settings – I have no idea where it comes from)
    5. I press the arrow on the map, my location moves back to my correct location
    6. I do another search by categories.
    7. My location on the map moves again to the exact same, incorrect location near me

This happens every time. I wonder where is this strange location appearing from because it makes no sense. It is not the location I have given in the settings either, far from it. What makes the true location change to a false one after category search? If needed I can take a video of this from the screen.

Hope you can help me with this too, thanks in advance.

    Tested also with Android phone.

So when the map page loads, with the locations, the auto-locate is not in use. The map shows the default location given in the settings. I have to press the arrow on the map.

And also in Android Chrome the location jumps to the incorrect, same place after the category search.

And now, because the auto-location goes to faulty place after category search, also the directions are totally wrong.

Ah, now I know what happens: the location changes to the center point of the city after category search! Not my location, not the default location from the settings, but to the center of the city given by Google Maps.

This is a bug, isn’t it? Or have I done something wrong?

    Ok… Now I figure it out… Sorry.

The map should work both when I am not in the search location now, and when I am there and want instructions…

Of course when I use the “Your location” as the starting point (theoretical location) the search results must be in that area = the location must be the center of the city (or I think better if they would be the starting point from the settings, this was what made me confused). Otherwise if I plan my trip in New York, destination Malibu, the instructions would be from New York to a location in Malibu, if the plugin would use my real location and not the city I made the search from…

Huh, a bit complicated to figure out all the user cases here…

I will write some instructions to the users to understand how the map works and how to use it :).
