Please try thye following in your Docxpresso shortcode:
[docxpresso file="http://mydomain.com/test.ods" remote="true" comments="true" SVG="true"]

Hi Eduardo
Thanks for taking the time to look at this. Your suggestion works. Up to a point.
The new problem is finding a website that I can at once open and save .ods and .odt files as if they were on network and also has an internet address. It seems like Dropbox should do it, but wordpress gives an error when I use the “copy link” function of dropbox as the source file for docxpresso. I will try with Google drive and see if it is better.
Now I just update the excel or word file on my computer then I have to use FTP to move it to my wordpress host “SiteGround”. Provided the filename doesn’t have any spaces in it and is stored in the same directory docxpresso shows the new file.
Thanks again for your help it is definitely going in the right direction.
Dear David,
Do you envision any other possible solution?
You may also connect Docxpresso plugin to S3 (Amazon Storage) if you use other plugins and that has been tested before and works…
