# Auto Update to HTTPS

 * I understand that a recent version of WP added an almost auto conversion from
   HTTP to HTTPS. Please refer me to a WP explanation as to how this works. Thanks.

 * Thanks. Please confirm that you still need to get an SSL Certificate and update
   it every 90 days.

 * If you will be using HTTPS, you will always need a certificate for it.
 * Certificate validity period depends on CA, where you will get certificate for
   your site.
 * A free LetsEncrypt CA certificates are valid for 90 days.
    Some other CA’s may
   offer 1 Year certificates (or even more, however recent updates limited max lifetime
