Auto update stopped first week in Sept 2017

Hello.
Weekly media files were uploading without human intervention for the past year. The past 3 weeks they have not. I looked at the schedule settings and I see the schedule (cron event) requires a paid for plugin. OK… but when I look up how much ¥2,000 is that is $300 dollars. Is that right?

Do I also have to pay for the other three plug-ins for Media from FTP to work?

I have no problem donating to the project or a plug-in but that is way too much.
