# Auto-Update Stalled on 2.8.4?

 * Does anyone get stuck in the auto-updater at this point?
 * Downloading update from [http://wordpress.org/wordpress-2.8.4.zip](http://wordpress.org/wordpress-2.8.4.zip).
 * (it doesn’t do anything after that. I’ve let it sit for up to 10 minutes)
 * I would prefer not to do a manual, unless that’s that everyone recommends…

 * Same issue, doesn’t appear to be any other solution other then manual upgrade?
   I do not have any plugins activated at all.

 * Could be a memory issue. Try bumping it up by adding this code –
    define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’,’
   64M’); – to you wp-config.php

 * Thanks updating the memory limit worked instantly.
 * Can anyone advice if I should keep that piece of code there or remove it after
   the upgrade?
