# Auto Update

 * When I try to auto update from 2.8.0 to 2.8.2 it asks for 4 things (seems auto
   filled in initially)
    Hostname – it gives flackgenealogy.com username – auto 
   filled password – auto filled conn – ftp selected
 * All I get when I try to update is “error connecting to server”
 * The blog is at [http://flackgenealogy.com/blog/](http://flackgenealogy.com/blog/)
 * What info is it actually after on these 4 fields – as I would like to auto update
   rather than keep downloading latest version and ftp’ing up to the website.
 * Thanks for any help

 * Yes, this was the same case for me as well. Try using the IP address instead 
   of domain name
