That sounds like something is reverting the changes in the database. Can you send a diagnostic report to wftest [at] wordfence [dot] com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence Tools > Diagnostics page. Please add your forum username (patr100) where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.
Note: For the fastest response time, please make sure and add any information or questions directly to this post and not the email address above as that email is not monitored.

Ok thanks for reply.
Report “sent successfully” according to message.
It’s just reset again (third time ) so not a one off.
Just to be sure, have you blocked or changed the wp-admin login URL?
Tim
Hi
No, it’s as expected in the WP1 install folder
Any update on this?
Thanks.

Hi @patr100
I see that your site is on a shared hosting server with the server IP address owned by the Host Europe Group.
They in turn own these hosting companies:
123-reg
Heart Internet
We have seen both of these hosting companies where server administrators are deliberately changing the value of the Wordfence scan performance option Time limit that a scan can run in seconds to a value of 180 (seconds).
They are not informing their customers of this as far as we are aware.
Therefore when they do this your scans can only run for three minutes before the scan reaches the time limit that it can run for. The default limit that a scan can run for is three hours.

Hi @patr100
Thank you for the update.
You might choose to migrate the site as we have seen 123-reg changing that scan option for nearly a year, for users that do report this. We don’t know if it is a widespread issue or not on their servers. The best thing to do is ask them if they are changing that scan option and why.
For the Elementor issue this is likely due to the firewall seeing Elementor requests as being potentially malicious and blocking them. You can either whitelist these requests via the Learning Mode feature or from the Tools >> Live Traffic tool page. Both whitelisting methods are described in our instructions in the link below:
https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/learning-mode/
Thanks for your reply. Actually disabling then re-enabling the Wordfence plugin seems to have cleared the problem with the Elementor interface , though I had also inbetween updated the Pro version of the EL plugin so that might have had something to do with it.
But if it reoccurs I will try the learning mode, or whitelisting.
Thanks.

Hi @patr100
Thank you for the update.
I will mark this as resolved for you.
Ok but the other issue still occurs, I now find.
I’ve turned on learning mode but it hasn’t made any difference.

Hi @patr100
Thank you for the update.
What do you see when you can’t use the Elementor editing interface when Wordfence is active?
Please add a screenshot to a file sharing service and post the link here.
Thanks for your reply.
I deactivated then reactivated WordFence a second time.
It’s still in learning mode.
It was still occurring before in learning mode but it seems to have stopped at the moment.
I will monitor it and see how it goes – specially when learning mode goes off in
a few days time. If I see it again I will post a screenshot.

Ok, I am getting the issue again, I get a blue timer circle animation hanging with the Elementor interface. which constantly hangs and never fully loads.
I can’t add new elements to the page though if select them on the page, I can edit
existing elements though they often dont show as updated immediately as expected.

Hi @patr100
Thank you for the update.
If the Elementor page hangs and the Wordfence firewall is in Learning Mode then the firewall should not be involved at all.
I suggest that you ask Elementor for support and your PHP error logs may provide some clues as to why Elementor is malfunctioning.
