• The description for Redirection lists as an existing feature:

    • Automatically add a 301 redirection when a post’s URL changes

But it seems that this does not include changes made as a result of changing the permalink structure. Is that right?

I’m updating the permalink structure on a site and was hoping to use Redirection to automatically add and log the 301 redirects. But it’s not working.

(No custom 404 page yet so it redirects to the home page.)

I see that a few others have posted this same question but their posts have gone unanswered.

So I tested it on a change to just the /%postname%/ or slug, in the edit post screen, and the redirect and log work fine.

So from this, I guess I’m out of luck?

If someone can confirm that Redirection isn’t meant to handle changes to permalink structure, that would be helpful. And if you know of a tool that will, I’d be really grateful!

    Thanks.
