Auto-lightbox image links – feature image?

Does the … Auto-lightbox image links
Option work for feature images? It did not work on my site.

I am using a custom post type with a custom template. I got it to work with this…

the rel=”lightbox” is hardcoded in now. Works fine, but would be cool if you could add that.
