  • I have an idea of what the problem is, but what is the best way to fix or do a work around?

My entire account with FastWebHosts is set up weird. Some is my fault, that I do admit.

What I started with was one domain, and added several more over the 12 years I’ve been doing this.

    My domain name is:
under that I have five WordPress applications running. So, redirected to just BUT by doing so none of the “automatic” updates will work because they are expecting a a different directory structure.

I can find no place to download and install manually the various updates and themes. I could install them myself, if I could find them for manual download.

  • Are your WP apps up to date? Or are some current and some not?

    And which themes?

when I go this domain name I see your index of folder and one them is when I click on that this the url in address bar and your wordpress opens.

I would like know what your root folder is?

I have an Apache base UNIX web server.
Each of the six web sites, each a Word Press install , has their own registered domain names.
The directory structure right now is as follows:

    Home/public_html/ ( only has a index.html menu page)
    2nd under public_html is /
    3rd under public_htm/ is /
    4th under public_html is /
    5th under public_html is /
    6th under public_html is /

All the sites works OK, execpt for the auto update/downloads.

Are you sure as from the url I see that you have in public_html and you have in

so on top you will see Home/public_html/

Matter of fact you should have the index.html that in in public_html as is your primary domain name
then have in public_html and same for rest.

set your addon domain names to point respective folder

In try to upgrade any of the sites I get the following response:

    Update WordPress
    Downloading update from…

    Unpacking the update…

    Verifying the unpacked files…

    Installing the latest version…

You can update manually using ftp replace all files and folders except
wp-content folder and wp-config.php from a fresh download.

    and run http://domainame/wp-admin/upgrade.php

    Ya all,
Thanks for the help. It still won’t auto upgrade, so I’ll do as I have always did. If I can’t get over the mountain, I’ll go around it, and if I can get around it or under it I will tell it be removed and cast into the sea. (Mark 11:23~24).
