• Hi,

I have developed simple application to install latest WordPress (3.2.1) if you like.
It does same steps as required on normal installation.

To try installing your wordpress you can visit application http://www.auto-installer.com/install/wordpress

All comments or bug reports are welcome. I have created this app for myself, but anyone is welcome to use it.

I have also prepared JSON API so everybody can integrate automatic installations in their own applications. It is accessible at http://www.auto-installer.com/install/wordpress.json via POST method.

If anybody is interested I can prepare documentation for that.

  • I have a Windows computer that I use to publish a website. http://www.williamsvilleumc.com. The program and data is on my computer and I publish it offsite.

I want to change to using my Mac computer and use WordPress. Would it be easier to start WordPress on my Windows computer..then after the site is up then use my Mac to update. I have published several websites but want to change.

    Thanks,

    Lee

It will on your Mac also

If my original website is stored on my Windows computer….would it be easier to start my new website , using WordPress, on the Windows machine where all my current website information is stored…?

It is always easier to start new website. The question is whether you need the information from the current website?

What about security wise? Is it safe? I mean with the FTP login and database details?

http://www.auto-installer.com does not save any personal data to database.

FTP details are used to login and upload files.
Mysql details are used to generate configuration file and execute queries on server.

All data is removed after request completes. Even if error occurs, auto-installer does not save any data.

System counts how many times software was installed to track ratings and popularity.

I believe http://www.auto-installer.com is safer than Facebook, simply because we do not store your sensitive data 🙂
