    Hey Tobias,

    I’d much appreciate your help again.

    I’m trying to reproduce this table: https://beaplanner.com/syndication-math/ into TablePress.

    And, actually, so far, so good. I’m still working on the Custom CSS:
    https://beaplanner.com/tablepress/

    But here’s the challenge that I’m facing right now:

    You can notice that in the original table, there are some Blue fields. This is because the team keeps constantly changing those fields from black to blue and vice-versa to indicate some current situation at some specific moment.

    The Auto Import has been working like a charm regarding the data changes. But I can’t find a user-friendly solution to these Blue text matters. Is there a way to import the color changes as well?

    I tried importing the spreadsheet via XLSX file instead of CSV, but I had no luck.

    If there is no way to do it, do you know, by chance, some kind of workaround to solve that?

    Sorry for asking too much. But if I can’t find a solution for those blue texts, it will be a showstopper for using TablePress.

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

    Just to be sure: The original data source that you are importing from is an Excel table, i.e. you have an .xlsx file of this table (including the blue text)?
    If so, you might want to try the TablePress 2.0 test version from https://tablepress.org/8-million-downloads-tablepress-2-0/
    In that, the Excel import is capable of importing colors, so maybe that would be a solution.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Yes, that’s correct. I’m importing from a google spreadsheet so I can use its dynamic link for the Auto Import extension.

    That’s excellent news, TablePress 2.0! I’m really eager to see it working.

    But since it’s a test version, would it be safe to have it up and running on a production server?

    Hi,

    thanks for the clarification! You would still need to generate an XLSX file from within Google Spreadsheets, and use that URL for the auto import! It will not work with the CSV export of Google Spreadsheet!

    And yes, I think it’s safe to install the TablePress 2.0 test version on a production server already. The test has been running for some weeks now, and changes were mainly cosmetic.

    Sounds great! I’ll install the TablePress 2.0

    Thanks for helping, Tobias!

    Hey Tobias,

    This site I’m working on still has WordPress 5.5.3 (and PHP 7.2). That’s why I installed TablePress 1.12 instead of its latest version.

    But we plan to roll out the next platform release in the weeks. And this version will have WordPress 5.8.4 (and PHP 7.4), which should work with TablePress 2.0.

    That said, and considering this matter of the color importing, I’ve installed the TablePress 2.0 (tablepress-dev.zip) on my testing site of this new platform version: https://bruno.php74.rmkr.net/

    But unfortunately, when activating the plugin, I got this PHP Fatal Error:

    PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to a member function render() on null in /var/www/bruno.php74.rmkr.net/wp-content/plugins/tablepress/controllers/controller-admin.php:470
    Stack trace:

    #1 /var/www/bruno.php74.rmkr.net/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(327): WP_Hook->apply_filters('', Array)

    #2 /var/www/bruno.php74.rmkr.net/wp-includes/plugin.php(470): WP_Hook->do_action(Array)

    #3 /var/www/bruno.php74.rmkr.net/wp-admin/admin.php(259): do_action('toplevel_page_t...')

    #4 {main}
      thrown in /var/www/bruno.php74.rmkr.net/wp-content/plugins/tablepress/controllers/controller-admin.php on line 470

    Actually, I noticed that this error is thrown only when accessing the /admin/admin.php?page=tablepress page.

    Could you please share your thoughts on it? Should we fix this error, or would it be something with other impacts?

    Thank you!

    Sorry, I forgot to mention that I’ve deactivated all other plugins. And have tested on both Genesis themes: Essence Pro and Parallax Pro.

    And while running the importing process, I got the same error.

    Hi,

    that sounds weird. I have no idea what could be going on there… If possible, I’d like to take a direct look at this on your site. Could you therefore please get in touch via email (the address is in the main plugin file “tablepress.php”)? That way, I can investigate this directly. Thanks!

    Regards,
    Tobias
