# Auto-generated reference number

 * Hello,
 * I am trying to get a reference number to appear in my form. I have used the form
   processor as given here:

 * Once I submit the form, I am able to see the generated reference number with 
   ease, but I cannot see it in the form. If I use any field, it will just display`{
   keygen: key}` in the field. What I would like to do is have a reference number
   generated before the form is submitted, as I would also like to have a HTML section
   that says:
 * `"If you would like to send attachments, please email me@thisaddress.com, quoting
   reference [REFERENCE]."`
 * In addition, when I submit the form, the AJAX feedback says `{keygen:key}` instead
   of the generated key. Is there a way of having a key generated before the form
   is submitted based on a predefined format? Perhaps something like `ORD-YYMMDDXXX`,
   where YYMMDD is the date and XXX is a randomly generated three character reference?
