• Resolved kpimarketing

    (@kpimarketing)

The auto generated default KB page is not found within the all pages area. Please make it so this page shows up there or that it can be accessed somehow, somewhere.

I need to apply custom access settings to that page, but I can not find it to edit and update those settings.

*I tried to use the shortcode and make a new page, but the shortcode breaks the footer. Weird. Only the page that uses the shortcode has a broken footer.

Anyone ever find a solution to this?

I think I figured it out. You can go and try and edit the plugin and from there you can edit the code on the individual pages. I edited this file “wp-knowledgebase/template/kbe_knowledgebase.php” and removed the final line about including a footer. That seemed to make it work perfectly. Not sure if this is helpful or not!

It should be available there in Pages. If it isn’t, it means it wasn’t created properly. This can happen in cases where there is something blocking that. Like htaccess not writable, some security settings etc. In this instance, it is fine to create any page of your choice and add the shortcode there. Also make sure to set the page template correctly (see faqs and install instructions). Then also make sure the slug in KB settings matches that page slug and then finally, resave permalink structure so that the plugin knows where to find that page.

Not a good idea to do this. If you edit the plugin files directly then any modifications you have made will be overwritten when the plugin updates. For this reason you should never modify plugins directly unless there is no other choice. In this case, the correct method will be to copy the templates to your theme and customise them there. This is described clearly in the FAQs and Install Instructions pages of this plugin. PLease check there and write back if you have questions.

    Thanks guys 🙂
