    Hi @strid3r,

TSF automatically detects page builders’ activity, and when found, their content is excluded from automated descriptions by default.
We’ve done this because some data can be obscured or protected by the builders, and we can’t determine the structure thereof.

In any case, this explains the behavior of why some posts do get a description and others don’t.

Keep in mind that it’s always best to write a manual description, so you’re certain your potential visitors will receive the correct version. AI can only go so far… 🙂

Alternatively, you could fill in an excerpt. The excerpt is used to its fullest extent on archive pages, given your theme supports it. If found, the excerpt is used instead of the page’s content to generate a description too.

With Gutenberg, we will incorporate content/block type detection, as we can trust the WordPress.org team to remain consistent for years to come.

I hope this clears up the confusion. Have a great weekend! 🙂

    Hey there.

Thank you for your time and the detailed explanation. This explanation does make sense. I never thought about the protected shortcode possibility.

If you ever add the feature, to optionally turn on/off auto generation for BB, I would definitely use that feature.

Thanks for your hard work and support.

    All the best 🙂

    Hey there.

Now that I understand that TSF does not autogenerate Beaver Builder content descriptions on purpose – I have a separate issue.

Pages that are created using Beaver Builder – The description area automatically create “On Website Name”. This is happening for all of my installations. Please see screenshots.

Of course, I can replace this description with my own hand-written description, but the for the pages and post that we do not enter our own descriptions, every page and post shows the same description on “On websitename”

    Hi @strid3r,

To provide compatibility with social sites, a fallback description is set regardless of the settings. The fallback is no longer required, so we’ll remove this in a later version.

It being partially empty ([..] on Blog name) is a mystery to me. I’ll check it out to file a bug report.

To reiterate, it’s best to set a custom description. This way you’ll know it’s what you need it to be.

I’ve found the culprit, and it’s because of caching.

It’ll be fixed with v3.0.6, which is due for release today.
The prefix removal is still under consideration because it intervenes with Google’s own “auto-description”.
