  • I used the twenty twenty three WordPress theme (two column/left right frame format). It looks great on the Desktop UI, but for only ‘2’ out of the 23 pages on my site (I provided the Home page URL as one of the two pages), the view is noticeably compromised in the Tablet and the Mobile views, as the right column/frame falls beneath the left column/frame, so the user has to scroll down to see the right column – if they do at all.

I was wondering if there is an easy way to, just for these two pages, apply responsive functionality so that the left and right columns (or at least for the right column) transform into a tab (or tabs), appearing at the top of the UI for users to toggle to the left or right columns on their Tablet or on their Mobile device.

Any and all advice would certainly be appreciated!

    Many thanks!

Tabbed pages require JavaScript to switch between tabs. Reflowing columns into one for narrow screens does not require any scripting. It’s not impossible for a page to work as you want, but it’s a different paradigm than what 2023 uses, so getting such behavior is not that easy.

You’re probably better off with a tabbed page scheme for all devices if you want to avoid reflow into one column. You could try a few of the plugins found from searching “tabbed pages”. There appear to be a lot of false positive results, but a few look promising. One of them may even have a two column to tab feature you’re looking for. While unlikely, we can remain hopeful 🙂
