So just a live search on the custom post type the plugin creates then?

    Hi digdug5,

Right now, BD doesn’t have this ability (and Luke’s suggestion may or may not work–we haven’t tested it officially so I can’t say one way or the other).

That’s something we can consider for future development, but not something the plugin allows for today.

Those options would work, since you index the created custom post type posts, then the auto complete search would work on just the posts in the index. Algolia will give results back on just two characters entered.

@luke thanks for the suggestion, I tried the plugins and the Algolia once broke my theme. Do you have a link to a site that is using the business directory plugin and your plugin together so I can see how it works. I would really like to find a predictive plugin to how browse a basic listing of names.

I would go checkout the SearchWP site if you want to know more about how it works and creates the index on your site.

SearchWP says “Everything is powered by adding a single HTML5 data attribute (data-swplive=”true”) to the input field of your search form.”

What file / line would I edit to add that attribute to the input field for the search form?

Nevermind found the search main box line under: /templates/main-box.tpl.php line 10
