Auto-Add Galleries to Albums? Or Similar Album > Gallery Control

    I love foo gallery and it’s my gallery plugin of choice – have it on many of mine and 30+ client sites.

    Is it possible to have any new gallery created automatically assigned to an album?

    Currently, getting a gallery into an album is a 2 step process. 1) Create gallery and then 2) go to album and add it. It’s not a clean process and many of my clients don’t fully understand, or forget the process (regardless of how many procedures we write for them. Even I agree that it would be nice to have an album that just gets automatically updated with any/all galleries.

    Or on a similar note, remove one of the 2-steps: Have an option on the Gallery Edit page, to add to Album(s), just like we are able to assign blog posts to blog categories, or pages to parents – each within their editor. This would give the user to add to album(s) in the same step/process, so he/she doesn’t have to go through a second set of steps to get a gallery to show in a particular album.

    I’d even pay for a plugin or a hack because I use FG on so many sites and see this such a valuable item to have.

    hey Blake,

    There are some really cool ideas here. I will discuss with the team in our weekly meeting tomorrow and add some of these items to the roadmap.

    I think having a few “Automation” options would be great

    I’m actually working a WP site with a foogallery installed so took some screenshots:

    My first option is not unlike the WordPress Menu system that watches for new top level pages “Automatically add new top-level pages to this menu”. On FG, A particular album could have an option “Automatically add new galleries to this album”. Of course, the user could later remove it as if it were added regularly. https://www.screencast.com/t/gmiM29t3geI

    I just want to say that I think that the idea from @blakemiller for an album to include the option to “Automatically add new galleries to this album” is excellent.
