Support » Plugin: ActivityPub » Authorization Headers error msg in Site Health

  • Hi Matthias,
Am creating a new question after a previous thread as the problem reappears from time to time, with some more info.
The error msg is still “Authorization Headers are being blocked by your hosting provider. This will cause IndieAuth to fail.”

Have since updated to the latest WP version (5.7).

What’s even more difficult to apprehend is this:
    * sometimes it works, but I then get an error in Site Health about SSL instead.
I know that this might come from an aggresive test by WP 5.7 on HTTPS headers. See here in WP core tracker.
I limited this error by removing caching and minimizing content. Even got rid of the plugin I used. This means I’m now serving the pages directly.
I asked my host about the SSL certificate and so far, they didn’t find any problem.

What’s worse, is that the WP blog @ www doesn’t have these errors at all. Only the one in subdomain “amf” and sometimes the one @ http://www.steveshehan.com (that has the SSL error too).

Re ActivityPub, what should I ask my host to check? Or should I just ignore the error message?

    Sincerely
    DJM

You told me that indeed, the json content is not served when the error appears, which means that the likes of Mastodon won’t get access to the site.
Is there a way for me to check if json is accessible with a friendly UI?
    Thx
    DJM
