    Hi there,

I love the Storefront theme and it’s been very useful, except in displaying a great blog author page.

Does anyone know which page is being used to show authors (I did not see an author.php page in my theme directory), and how to make it way better than it is to show not just the bio, but picture and social/website links generated from Users data, even if via plug-in?

    Thanks in advance!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hey @userdefenders

The author’s post page is made up from the themes/storefront/archive.php template.

I checked a few plugins, but it doesn’t look like there’s any that will easily add the additional information to this page, so you will likely need to use some custom code for that.

I’m gonna leave this thread open in case someone else is able to help with that specifically.

Hi @senff, thank you so much for taking the time to reply and look into. I greatly appreciate that. Also, appreciate you leaving this open in case anyone else has some suggestions.

    Hi there @userdefenders –

You’re right, Storefront doesn’t have an author.php template, so it’s using archive.php by default (as noted above).

One option that might work for you is to build a Storefront child theme specifically to add an author.php template which suits your needs. This would allow you to keep using Storefront, and add a custom layout template for the author archive page.

You can find out more about child themes in the codex:

I took a look at the Storefront child themes to see if any have an author template, but it looks like none of them do (they are all focused on eCommerce, e.g. shop & product pages).

    Hope this helps!

Appreciate greatly the lead and insight, @haszari!
