Author-specific avatars

Hi,

I’m running a blog that has two users, and would like to display an avatar next to the title of each post that’s specific to the author.

So, when L. posts an entry, her article will be stamped with her own avatar, while when C. does an update, his own entries will be marked with his avatar.

I’ve looked for avatar plugins but so far have only found something similar applying to commenters (Gravatar), isn’t there a plugin out there that could do what I’d like ?

(Additionally, I’ll welcome any links to a plugin that does this but to categories: a book icon for an entry in the books category, ect.)
