 * My author profile is showing my email address instead of username, is it because
   of the theme? it shouldn’t be this way as email should not be publicly displayed.

 * No, it not due to the theme. Any theme will display the same. WordPress creates
   the url using your username, which is set in _Users > Your Profile > Usermane_.
